Drybar Blowout Tips & Tricks

Have you ever wished you were able to re-create a perfect blowout? Here are some tips and tricks, from Rachel- Drybar Cle rep, to get that “fresh out of the salon” hair you’ve been dreaming of!

Step 1: Get yourself a round brush and some amazing products! Based on your hair type and texture, chose products accordingly:

  • Finer texture might need a little bit of “grip” and ”grit”  Check out our lightweight Southern Belle Volumizing Mousse!

  • Coarser textures might hold shape well, but need moisture and frizz control. Check out our 100 proof Smoothing Oil (Tip- this can be used on dry hair to tame frizz also!)

  • One product that ALL hair types and textures should use before ANY heat is applied to the hair is, you guessed it, heat protectant! Check out our Prep Rally, a light heat protectant mist, also a detangler AND a primer. (Tip- this will be applied FIRST to enhance any product you layer on top of it!)

Step 2: Choose your round brush size on a couple of factors: how well your hair hold curl and how much curl are you looking to achieve.

  • For hair that holds less curl, try and build more curl into the hair with a smaller round brush like our Half Pint!

  • For hair that holds more curl, or you’re going for a looser look, go for a medium round brush like our Double Pint!

Key tips to remember:

  • The more you train the hair to do what you want it to do during damp to dry manipulation, the more longevity you will get! Try and keep the hair in the round brush, rocking it back and fourth, to create curl and volume!

  • Try “setting” some sections for extra longevity/volume!

  • Release the brush in a large circular motion to keep the shape of the curl.

And if you’re anything like me, I get a little lazy sometimes when it comes to doing my hair. We have an awesome tool that is a round brush AND blow-drier in one! You can get that same blowout look with a little less elbow grease. Checkout the DoubleShot!
