A Year in Review
2020. the year that changed us
What a year it has been. Looking backwards to last January welcoming in the New Year, as we all celebrated and popped our champagne none of us could have anticipated the year we’ve had. We went from conferences with hundreds of attendees to a shelter in place ordinance quarantined in our homes.
We witnessed brides tearfully adapt their dreams. We witnessed so many heart-wrenching stories of families experiencing loss. We felt loneliness, isolation, frustration……Yet, in the same breath we saw real life heroes. We saw healthcare workers rising above all odds to serve in commitment to save lives. We saw teachers who cared so much about the well-being of their students that they were willing to do just about anything to keep their kids educated and entertained. We were all witness to minor miracles in the face of a stranger’s kindness, in the smile so big you can see it behind a face mask, in the care of a kind nurse singing with grandparents, and in a collective breath to simplify our lives.
If I’ve learned anything this year, it has to be the meaning of the word “hope”. I know hope is not lost, because even amidst the darkest of times, the goodness continues to shine through. For many of us, holding onto our loved ones has an entirely new level of appreciation. We may never take for granted being able to shake hands in a friendly hello, seeing the smile of a grocery clerk, or even being able to gather with our group of friends to share a meal.
So, here’s to 2021. May it bring hope to you and yours.
Let’s take with us the things that served us this year in 2020 and leave behind the rest. As for me, I will be taking forward the beauty of simplicity, appreciation of nature, and leaving behind the hurry that silences out my joy. How about you?
Much Love,
Morgs & Leo
